About
A real person behind every pick
Hi, I'm Austin, the person behind Caring Curator. I also run austin.support, and I want to be upfront that the same real person stands behind both. No faceless brand, no call center. On the tech side I also build Salve, a private app with a Calm view for keeping track of medications, vitals, and how you are feeling.
Why this site exists
Shopping for an aging parent, or for yourself, can be overwhelming. There are thousands of products, endless reviews, and a lot of noise. I built Caring Curator to be a calm, trustworthy starting point: a small, carefully chosen set of things that genuinely make daily life safer and easier, in plain language and large type.
How I choose what to recommend
- Does it solve a real, common problem for older adults?
- Is it safe, sturdy, and simple enough to actually use?
- Would I put it in my own parent's home?

How the site is paid for
Caring Curator is free to use. When you buy through one of my links, I may earn a small commission from Amazon, at no extra cost to you. It never changes the price you pay, and it doesn't change what I recommend. Read the full disclosure.
Part of the SoulSeen Network
Caring Curator is one corner of something larger. I'm a founding member of the SoulSeen Network, a trusted group of independent concierge and care professionals who help families navigate aging. It started with three of us, coworkers from senior living, who kept seeing the same thing: families needed more than a facility could offer.
I'm the person you'll meet for anything technology related, and one call can connect you to the rest of the network: concierge support, senior moving and downsizing, and guidance for adult children navigating a parent's declining health, dementia, or a move to a new home. Whatever your family is facing, I'm always glad to make the introduction. You are never figuring it out alone.
Meet the circle on our network page.
