How I choose what goes on this site

Who picks these

I do. Caring Curator is one person, not a brand with a review team. It started as a project to help families find what their loved ones need, and everything on the site came out of that digging. More on the about page.

What has to be true before it goes on

Three questions, and it has to pass all three:

• Does it solve a real, common problem for older adults?
• Is it sturdy, and simple enough to use without reading a manual?
• Would I feel good putting it in a family member's house?

I lean toward things that have been around a while and are widely owned, read what real buyers say about whether they hold up, and prefer anything that asks for less grip, less balance, and less setup. Plenty of well-reviewed things don't make it, and a thin category stays thin rather than getting padded out.

Where the money comes from

• I earn a small commission if you buy through a link here, at no extra cost to you. It comes out of Amazon's margin, never your price.
• The commission doesn't decide what goes on the site, and nobody can pay for a spot or a better position on the page.
• Any price shown here came from Amazon and carries the time it was pulled. Prices move, so the one on Amazon at checkout is the real one.
